Commercial Zoning Compliance Applications 

• You can now apply and pay for commercial zoning compliance applications online.
• These are only for commercial property in unincorporated Franklin County (not city/village) and not in the following townships: Blendon, Jackson, Jefferson, Perry, Plain, Prairie, Washington (must obtain zoning compliance through their departments).

Contractor Registration 

• Check out this guide for how to register and/or renew an existing Electric, General, or HVAC registration.
• Renewals for next year are not available until November 1st (must also be registered for this year or else wait until January 1st).
• If you do not see an existing registration, contact the Building Department for an access code as it may be associated with a different Portal account.

Updated permit submission - 

• You can now start an application and then submit it whenever it is ready for submission (application will remain incomplete until it is submitted).
• Note: if you have already submitted a permit through the Portal and are awaiting a response, please do not submit the same one again.

Building Permits

Franklin County has adopted the 2019 Residential Code of Ohio, which only regulates 1, 2, and 3 family dwellings/residential homes. Zoning compliance requirements and commercial building permits vary by jurisdiction.
